3D Valentine's Day Gift

Valentine's Day is coming up so I created this 3-dimensional card. Well actually, I'm not sure you would call it a card, because it's like a display as well. Whatever you call it, I think it makes a nice gift. :)

I made good use of my Martha Stewart punches and Sizzix die on this.

All supplies are from My Scrapbook Nook's January kit, featuring Pink Paislee's Cupid collection, except for the satin ribbon, Prima flower, string of pearls and the scalloped heart which I cut out of some chipboard. Btw, the Nook's January kit is completely sold out. :)

Beach Canvas - Tattered Angels and Graphic 45

Here's a canvas project I created for Tattered Angels for CHA, using their new glimmer mists, screens and chips. I also used the new fresh-off-the-press On The Boardwalk collection from Graphic 45.

Let me say that glimmer mists work really well on canvas. I used the new Caribbean Blue and Sunshine over the fantastic new On The Beach glimmer screens on the canvas, topped off with some Iridescent Gold for glint-in-the-sun shine. And my favourite this season - Dazzling Diamonds on the Prima flower and Dazzling Diamonds and Bubbles on the TA glimmer chip. Look at how the white glimmer mist adds just that right touch of shimmer to the petals. So pretty!

I misted this chipboard heart with Candy Apple Red and crackle glazed it. The patterned paper's from Graphic 45's new On The Boardwalk collection. Love the vintage images.

This seahorse glimmer glass is part of the new Beach collection. I also dabbed on some of the new Glimmer Glaze in Emerald Cove on the top left corner with a paint brush. You can see that the glaze is of a thicker consistency than the mist. I used the new Crushed Shells glimmer mist on the manila tag, misting over another new glimmer screen from the Under The Sea collection.

I had fun playing with different textures for this altered canvas and trying out some of the new glimmer mist colours. Off to create more. :)

List of Supplies:

Glimmer Mists - Caribbean Blue, Sunshine, Iridescent Gold (on canvas);
Crushed Shells (on tag);

Winter Berry - Tattered Angels

Here's a layout I did for Tattered Angels for CHA, using some of their new glimmer mists. I misted Hula Hoop and Water Slide on white cardstock, over a large Garden Glimmer Screen. I then built a shadow box for the layout using Webster's Pages Postcards from Paris papers. The patterned papers are layered over Prima flowers and lace for a three-dimensional look.

Here you can see the new Framed Font glimmer chip from Tattered Angels in Postage Stamp. The possiblities for this shape are endless. I've used it here to frame my title, but it'll work perfectly for small passport sized photos too. I misted Dazzling Diamonds on the chip and this is one colour I'm in love with. It's clear and the whitish glimmer from it is amazing! This is going to be one of my go-to colours this season. :)

A low angle view to show the shadow box effect I created:

List of Supplies:
Tattered Angels:
Garden Glimmer Screen
Glimmer Mists - Hula Hoop, Water Slide (on cardstock); Dazzling Diamonds (on Postage Glimmer Chips)
Postage Glimmer Chip
Nature Glimmer Glass
Regal Glimmer Glass

Other Products:
Patterned Paper - Websters Pages Postcards from Paris
Alphas - Websters Pages
Flowers - Prima Marketing
Distress Inks - Rangers Industries
Lace - own stash

Graphic 45 Card - A Proper Gentleman

CHA is going to start real soon so I'm going to share a few of my CHA projects over the next few posts.

First up, here's a card featuring the A Proper Gentleman papers by Graphic 45. The papers here are so classic. They remind me of the prints on a tie or argyle sweaters; a perfect collection for making manly layouts and projects. I decided to make a card that would be for the men in your life, for Father's Day and birthdays, and even party invites.

A close-up of the tag. I like that image of the tuxedo from the collection's diecut paper.

Supplies used:
Graphic 45's A Proper Gentleman - Dressed to the Nines, Haberdasher, Die Cut Tags
Graphic 45's Fashionista - Buttons a la Mode
Couture Cardstock: Green
Eyelet: We R Memory Keepers
Tag, ribbon, twine: own stash

I'll be back over the week to show more of my CHA projects, as and when I'm allowed to. Thanks for coming by.

Snow Cool

Just finished this layout today, using My Scrapbook Nook's lovely January kit. The Pink Paislee Cupid collection has a really sweet Valentine's look with its pastel blues and pinks, but I thought it would be fun to rough it up a bit and distress the edges as well as mist it up with Glimmer Mist in Sand.

I also wanted to try something new on this layout with the border ruffles. The punched out border seems to complement the Maya Road envelopes well too.

Lovely lace trims from Prima and sweet little heart pins.

The layout from another angle.

All supplies are from My Scrapbook Nook's January kit except for the Prima flower, leaves and red lace trim.

Thanks for coming by. :)

Cherish These Moments

I've been super busy creating some CHA projects for Graphic 45 and My Tattered Angels. Am taking a quick breather now and thought I'd share another layout I made using My Scrapbook Nook's gorgeous January kit, featuring Pink Paislee's Cupid collection.

I decided to use a dark brown cardstock for my base, and spritzed the edges with My Tattered Angels' glimmer mist in Iridescent Gold. I love the shine the mists give the cardstock.

These darling Scenic Route chipboard butterflies came with the kit and I decided to alter them using glimmer mists and crackle mediums. I like how the sunlight glistens on the butterfly. I'll post a tutorial on how I created the effect on the butterfly in my next post.

Lots of handcutting here, of leaves and flowers from the Pink Paislee patterned paper. And also fun with my Martha Stewart giant border punches.

Here's the view from another angle:

And here's a little reminder:

Tattered Angels Garden Journal Album

All this month, the designers at My Tattered Angels will be showing off what you can create with the Tattered Angels albums. I got to play with the Garden Journal Album, which is so pretty with the embossed image of a tree on the cover and glimmer glass gate.

This album first appeared in the Tattered Angels Blog last week.

For the cover, I decided to create an image of a sunrise in the park, inspired by a photograph I saw of a sunrise.

I inked the tree in different shades of green, then misted the entire cover in shades of Sunflower and Peach Delight for the sunrise, and shades of Juneberry Wine and Fully Purple for the dawn sky. I love how the glimmer mists shimmer in the sunlight, giving off glints of gold wherever they catch the light.

This mini album is about our recent holiday to New York and the cover reminds me of Central Park, aptly.

The cover opens up to reveal a gatefold.

I carefully misted the butterfly screen onto the two gatefold pages, taking care so that when the two pages were closed, the butterfly image would line up perfectly. I used Cranberry Zing and English Ivy on these pages. My title sits on a Framed Font chipboard lightly inked in lilac and adorned with matching hyacinths.

If you open up the gatefolds, you will see that I continued the butterfly screen misting across the right and left pages too. Here you see what the right page looks like when it’s opened up:

And this is how the album looks with the gatefold open and the centre page showing through.

On this page, I misted the page with the same shades as the gatefold pages so that all three pages flowed right across. I continued the butterfly theme with punched out butterflies flitting across my mini layout, complemented by patterned paper in the same green and purple hues and a touch of pretty lace.

For the next page, I played with the compass glimmer screen and misted the page in Peach Delight and Pashmina, picking up the hues from the photograph of us in Times Square. And it being Times Square, I stamped an image of a clockface right onto the compass. The stamp and the glimmer screen lined up perfectly, as all coordinated glimmer screens and stamps will.

This next photo has a Christmas-sy feel about it so I selected glimmer mists in red (Peppermint Stick) and green (Forest Green) to give it that festive feel. I carelessly misted the red mist here, there and everywhere, then filled in the rest of the page with green. To add to the holiday cheer, I outlined the glimmer screen image with stickles in a cheery Christmas red. I kept the page simple, with just a little embellishment in the corner.

So those were some pages from my Garden Journal Album. I hope you liked the album because I had a lot of fun creating it.

Have a great week ahead!

I had so much fun playing with the My Scrapbook Nook's January kit over the weekend. The kit this month features Pink Paislee's Cupid collection. So pretty!

I had a blast with my newly-acquired Martha Stewart heart punches. What better collection to use it on than PP's cupid, right? I also cut out the flowers and leaves from PP's Heart Bloom papers to complement the big red satin bow cluster, which I also embellished with Prima flowers and a string of pearls. As you can tell, I decided to get all girly with pink and pearls on this layout. Something I haven't done in a while. :)

Another close-up where you can see more of the hearts and pearls. :)

Off to play with my January kit again. :)
