Blue Skies

Here's another layout using Pink Paislee's Bayberry Cottage papers with their new Artisan Elements, from My Scrapbook Nook's March kit. We had to wait a little for this month's kit but it was so worth the wait because we were one of the first to receive Pink Paislee's latest collection.

I decided to go graphic and clean with this layout, using lots of white space and just a little fussy cutting.

And how wonderful that this layout was one of the Top Ten Most Liked layouts at Two Peas when I posted it up a couple of days ago. It was sixth actually. Camilla's gorgeous layout was top and Tanya's was 4th. So fun to be in good company. :)

I got to play with Pink Paislee's hot from CHA Bayberry Cottage collection, thanks to My Scrapbook Nook's March kit. I really like the lime and grape colours on the patterned paper and that pleated twill is just so pretty.

A mix of some new and old Prima flowers from my personal stash. And I found Prima leaves in the perfect shade to match the patterned papers.

Playing with some butterfly and border punches and a spritz of glimmer mist along the diagonal of the cardstock.

The Nook's really outdone itself for this kit, loading it with fresh from CHA Pink Paislee papers, Maya Road chips and Jenni Bowlin pins. The Pink Paislee Bayberry Cottage and Queen Bee collections haven't even reached our shores yet and I already have them in my hands. Sweet!

An Experimental Canvas

Last Saturday, I went for a really fun crop party to celebrate my good friend Pancy's birthday. I'd met Pancy through scrapbooking and it was a wonderful afternoon spent with 10 like-minded individuals who all shared the same love for scrapping.

We all got to create a canvas layout and it was interesting to see how different the canvases turned out using the same kit. I was in a crazy mood and decided to use a really unlikely combination of colours on my canvas - a base of yellow, followed by glimmer mists in shades of purple (!), orange (!!) and dark green (!!!). Okay, so I do scrap dark green, but the combination of yellow plus purple plus orange was a little off, to say the least. :P And because I was choosing wierd colours anyway, I went for streaks in my canvas. Very unlike me. I'm a neat mister, I may even do the occasional splotches and drips... but never streaks. And not purple and orange streaks. But hey, if you're going to experiment with colours and techniques, why not go all the way right? So here's my experimental canvas:

Mildly eccentric to say the least. :)  I struggled with the layout during the crop because 1) I hardly scrap in 8x8 (where was my white space?!); and 2) the yellow-purple-orange canvas was mocking me. BUT the Prima flowers, leaves, lace, swirls and butterfly and Basic Grey Kioshi papers which Pancy and Kelly selected for the kit came to my rescue and I was able to finish the canvas. And hey, I like that it's different. And it's definitely a happy layout. :)

Nook March Kit

My Scrapbook Nook's March kit is on its way! Look at what's in it - the latest CHA release from Pink Paislee's Bayberry collection, complete with matching embellishments from Maya Road, American Crafts and Jenni Bowlin.

I also ordered the new Pink Paislee Queen Bee collection and that's coming in the box too. So fun!

Trio of Tags - Dream, Love & Inspire

I created this Trio of Tags (Dream, Love & Inspire) for My Tattered Angels.

The tags all started out as plain manila tags. I misted all of the them with Vintage Pink and Frost, over the Timeless Romance Glimmer Screen. I then stamped over them with the matching Timeless Romance stamp. The same screen and stamp was used on all three tags, but I used different parts of the stamp, stamping off the tags to give a different look to each. I misted the chipboard swirls and lace in different shades to match the tags and also liberally misted the flowers with Iridescent Gold for some shimmer.

Tattered Angels and Fancy Pants

cThis month, My Tattered Angels and Fancy Pants Design are having a blog relay and I got to play with the Vintage Valentine collection from Fancy Pants. These pretty vintage papers called for lovey projects so I created two cards, perfect for Valentines Day or just any I Love You occasions.

On this first one, I misted the heart-shaped screen from the Timeless Romance collection onto kraft paper with the new glimmer mists shades of Viva Pink and SWAK. I then stamped it with the beautifully intricate stamp from the same collection. Next, I carefully cut out the heart image and attached lace all around the border.




One of my favourite go-to products in Tattered Angels is the Framed Font chipboard frame. Here I misted it with Rose Tea and defined the edges with some ink. I then slipped in the sentiment "I Adore You" using a cut out from the Fancy Pants patterned paper. The lace was misted with matching shades of pink to complement the card.




A Prima rose, some velvet leaves, satin ribbon and a string of pearls complete the romantic shabby-chic card.





The second card I created is a Butterfly Valentine. I used the glimmer screen and stamp from the Graceful Journey collection, misting the butterfly with the intense reds from Red Valvet and Candy Apple Red glimmer mists.



I wanted to accent the butterfly with a doily flower and some pearls. The doily in its original white was a little too stark, so I spritzed on gentle shades of Patina and Vintage Rose, which added just a hint of turquoise and peachy-pink. A string of pearls, some delicate lace and a pale blue satin ribbon complete the card.

I love the new le' Romantique papers from Graphic 45. They're just so beautiful and romantic. Perfect papers for this photo of DH and me taken on a holiday in Paris. hhhmmm... I want to go to Paris again soon. :)

The Prima Tea Roses are the perfect match for the roses from the patterned paper. And those pink Prima pearl swirls complement the peach in the layout so well.


One can never get enough of butterflies. :)

Romantique Card

I'm liking the Graphic 45 le Romantique papers more and more. Those roses and butterflies... Sigh! Thanks Candy for the butterflies. ;-)

Here's a card I created using the papers. It's so easy to make something beautiful with these papers. Just add lace, stickles and flowers. :) I spritzed the Prima flowers with a little Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to get them in the right shade for the card.
