Zva Creative DT Blog Hop

Are you ready to be inspired?

As you may know, I am a proud design team member for Zva Creative.  We are joining together today to share projects that we have created using some of our favorite Zva Creative products. I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a little bit of fun!

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blogShe will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way.  If you would like to play along, I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. There are 19 design team members, so be prepared to be inspired along the way.  Hidden on 5 of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY!  Those blogs will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

This Blog Hop runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, June 29th and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, June 30th on each of the winning blogs and the full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog (linked above). We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there.  All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

Here's my Zva layout, titled One Fun Day:

The photo called for a layout evoking blue skies, rolling meadows and nature, which immediately brought to mind Crate Paper's Brook Collection.

Some close-ups:

I trimmed the edges of the wavey patterned paper with white lace for definition and texture.

Felt flowers and crystal brads from Zva Creative complement the die-cut butterflies flitting among them.

Pearl flourishes from Zva form the butterfly trails and frame the photo, drawing attention to it.

A look from another angle.

Please hop on over to see Carole Maurin's Zva creation.

Thanks for joining us. :)

Cute

Here's a layout I created for My Tattered Angels. My favourite part about it, aside from that really cute photo? The background I created using just white cardstock and glimmer mists. I love that you can customize your own background or embellishments using glimmer mists to match your layout.

For this layout, I laid out two butterfly glimmer screens on white cardstock and misted in shades of brown, orange and pink to match my patterned papers from Crate Paper's Pink Plum collection. The mists I used were Tattered Leather, Tutti Frutti, Peach Delight and Flower Power.

I love hand cut details and the flowers from the Crate Paper patterned papers were just too cute to resist. And it helped that they matched the colours in the photo. :)

Lots of inking, distressing, lace and punched borders. Got to love that Martha Stewart border butterfly punch.

And one of my favourite turn-to embellishments from Tattered Angels - the butterfly framed font chipboard.

Thanks for coming by.

Remember

I created this layout using My Scrapbook Nook's lovely June kit featuring My Mind's Eye So Sophie collection.

I cut along the edges of the leaves in the Charming Botanical Blue patterned paper, then inserted my matted photo under the cut out edges, creating a border and focus for my photo. The photo is matted with Savvy Petite Red Floral paper to complement the picture.

These pretty butterfly pearl embellishments are from Zva Creative, as is the blue flower.

Inking and distressed edges and handwritten journalling on distressed strips complete the layout. This design is inspired by a sketch at My Mind's Eye.

Supplies:
Pearl embellishment - Zva Creative butterfly pearls
Flower - Zva Creative Sweet Flowers
Patterned paper - My Mind's Eye So Sophie Charming and Savvy collections
Alphas - Basic Grey

And in other scrappy news..... I'm on the design team for Your Scrapbook Stash! :)

Chirp!

As a departure from my usual earthy colour tones, here's a pretty pink layout I created for Zva Creative using Crate Paper's lovely Pink Plum collection.

I love lots of hand-cut details and dimension on my layouts and the Raspberry patterned paper was perfect for this. The cut-outs were layered with 3D foam dots for lots of dimension.

Some close-ups:

The Zva Creative pearl flourish corner was created from a single flourish, which I cut into two. I love cutting up my bling swirls to customise my own designs:

When I first started out this layout, it looked a little too clean and bright. So along the way, I inked all the edges with distress ink, giving them more definition. And to draw attention to the photo, I double matted it in pink patterned paper and brown cardstock, inking and distressing the edges for more dimension. Finally, the photo was also popped up using 3D foam dots, which gave the pearl flourishes a floating effect.

Thanks for dropping by. :)

I splashed some Tattered Angels glimmer mist in Red Velvet, Lime Twist and Olive Vine over the background patterned paper to brighten up the white space a little.

And to finish off the layout, some beautiful crystal flourishes from Zva Creative.

Lorikeet

A layout for My Scrapbook Nook using My Mind's Eye So Sophie papers from the Nook's June kit.

Some close-ups:

A flower made out of a cluster of Webster's Pages aqua bloomers, with little leaf pins from Maya Road. The Maya Road scalloped chipboard was misted with My Tattered Angels glimmer mist in Candy Apple Red then crackle painted with Rock Candy Crackle.

Love those Martha Stewart border punches with a little row of birds.

I did a tutorial on this layout for the Nook. I'll post it up on this blog later.

Thanks for coming by. :)

Family

A fun project for My Tattered Angels using Pink Paislee's Bayberry Cottage collection for this month's blog hop.

I like my projects to have lots of texture, dimension and layers, as you'll see below.

I misted the corrugated cardboard in Lime Twist and rubbed on some distress stickles for texture. The Family Bingo Board was misted with Caribbean Blue, Cranberry Zing and Marshmallow to match the Bayberry Cottage papers. The key is from My Tattered Angels' Vintage Hardware collection.

I fashioned the keyhole out of a Framed Font chipboard negative, lightly misted with Tattered Rose.

You can see the dimension better from this angle. I also used lots of lace and ribbon here for a differential in texture. I found the white lace too pure for the project so I misted it with Old Lace, a great shade for ageing up lace without changing the colour too much.

Thanks for dropping by. :)

List of Materials Used:
Mists - My Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists in Cranberry Zing, Lime Twist, Caribbean Blue, Marshmallow, Old Lace;
Chipboard - My Tattered Angels Framed Font;
Bingo Board - My Tattered Angels;
Key - My Tattered Angels Vintage Hardware;
Patterned Papers - Pink Paislee Bayberry Cottage;
Ribbon and Lace - Pink Paislee, Prima Marketing and others;
Quote - 7 Gypsies; and
Others - Rangers Distress Stickles.

All Aboard!

More Pink Paislee goodness. :) This is another layout I did for the Tattered Angels - Pink Paislee blog hop. I used the 365 Degrees colletion, which I wouldn't have thought to purchase but it was surprisingly easy to use. Goes to show you've got to step out of your comfort zone.

I decided to go with a train theme on this one, just because the collection matched the Toon Town train so well.

Instead of misting the background, I decided to splash droplets of glimmer mist in Lemon Zest, Turquoise Blue and Candy Apple Red onto the diecut paper, taking my cue from the yellows, blues and reds in the patterned paper. I used a couple of Tattered Angels glimmer glass here. I especially like that little postage stamp with the train on it.

Another train motif, this time one from the Tattered Traveller glimmer chip collection.

Thanks for dropping by.

Supplies List:
Patterned Paper - Pink Paislee 365 Degrees Dream Big, Be Free, Day Dream, Thank Big, Believe;
Glimmer Mists - My Tattered Angels Lemon Zest, Turquoise Blue, Candy Apple Red;
Flowers and Leaves - Prima Marketing;
Alphas - Pink Paislee, Jenni Bowlin;
Border Punches - Martha Stewart, Fiskars;
Others - My Tattered Angels glimmer glass and glimmer chip.

Trail Ride

Here's one of my layouts for Tattered Angels for June. The DT at Tattered Angels got to play with some Pink Paislee collections this month and what a thrill it was. This layout uses my favourite Pink Paislee Queen Bee collection. I love the subtlety of the grey, brown and yellow hues.

Some close-ups:

I misted Lemon Grass over a Garden Blossom glimmer screen, then flicked some droplets of Black Magic and Sunshine over the white cardstock. The stamp along the edge is one of the new Rockin' Renaissance ones from Tattered Angels.

The title work - I painted Lemon Grass glimmer mist on the outline of the Framed Font alphas for some subtle outlining, and glossy accented the Jenni Bowlin alphas and bumble bee for added dimension.

I did some hidden journalling on the card from Tattered Angels' Bingo Boards collection. The journalling card is tucked behind the photo. I haven't done hidden journalling in a while. I used to do them all the time about two years ago. The journalling was so well-hidden it became a game for other scrappers to guess where they were at a forum I used to frequent. :)

Lots of handcut details, Prima flowers and lace complete the layout.

Materials used:
Patterned Paper - Pink Paislee Queen Bee collection: Worker Bee, Honey Bee, Queen Bee;
Mists -  My Tattered Angels glimmer mists in Lemon Grass, Sunshine and Black Magic;
Alphas - My Tattered Angels Framed Fonts and Jenni Bowlin stickers;
Journalling Card - My Tattered Angels Bingo Boards;
Die Cuts - Pink Paislee Punch Outs;
Flowers & Leaves - Prima Marketing; and
Lace - Prima Marketing.

Hogwarts

I spent the last week playing with my Pink Paislee papers. My prize package from Pink Paislee arrived a couple of days ago and My Tattered Angels is having a blog relay with Pink Paislee so I got lots of goodies from there too. I'll post my Tattered Angels layouts later (actually I'm still working on them). So here's one I created for Zva Creative, using Pink Paislee's Bayberry Cottage papers.

Some close-ups:

The flowers here are all from Zva - the blue icy blossoms, felt flowers and sweet blossoms, and of course the crystal flourish.

The title work mini collage.

Thanks for dropping by. :)
