Zva Creative August DT Blog Hop!

The Zva Designers are joining together today to share a project that we have created using some of our favorite Zva Creative products. I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a little bit of fun again this month!

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog.  She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on 5 of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Those blogs will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts now and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, August 31st and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, September 1st on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday... plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

And here's my Zva Creative layout:

Some close-ups:

All crystal and pearl flourishes, flowers and pearl brads are from Zva Creative. Pretty, aren't they?

One Fine Day

Another layout using Basic Grey's Olivia collection. I went for a muted colour combination this time, playing off the existing colours in the photo. I especially like that the background Basic Grey white patterned paper had splotches of grey in it, complementing the stones in the stream.

I kept the layout quite clean and simple, no inking and minimal distressing. And look at those Zva Creative pearl flourishes (PE-02CB-136) in the perfect shade of light mint.

All Basic Grey paper, alphas and embellishments are available from Your Scrapbook Stash.

Sweet

Another layout using Basic Grey's Olivia collection, for Your Scrapbook Stash. I went with a clean look this time. Pristine white cardstock with super cute cut-outs from the Oliva papers. Look! No inking and distressing. Haven't done that for the looongest time. And no flowers nor bling either. :D And I like the result. :)

Follow Your Bliss

Ready for a scrap challenge? Your Scrapbook Stash is sponsoring a new sketch site this week, Sketch Inspiration. Here's the exclusive sketch by Aphra Bolyer:

And here's my take on the sketch:

I've been meaning to try out an adaptation of Christine Middlecamp's embellished paper doily tutorial and the blocks in Aphra's sketch gave me the perfect opportunity to do so. Having bought some manila tags recently, I decided to create some mini collages on tags and make these the central theme of my layout.

I went for simple layering, playing with some butterfly and circle punches on Basic Grey's sweet Olivia papers.

Some close-ups:

Flowers, butterflies, lace, trim and sparkleys make for a pretty tag. :) The title is a metal embellishment from The Girls Paperie.

Layered Prima flowers and tiny little butterflies adorn the tag on the right while a simple, classic layering holds centre stage on the other tag.

So much fun to be had with a few butterfly and circle punches. :)

Your Scrapbook Stash is also having two contests right now. The first is a Summer contest, where you can enter any new summer-themed layout or mini-album. And the second is a Christmas card contest. Check out the details here: Contests at YSS.

And if you entered the YSS Scrap Contest, be sure to keep an eye out on the blog because the winners will be announced soon. :)

Happy scrapping!

Swinging

A layout for My Scrapbook Nook using Sassfrass Lass' Indie Girl collection. Went for a girly layout with lots of fancy borders, trims and flowers.

Had a fun time with my border punches and ruffling up the patterned papers.

Some close-ups:

This will be my last month with My Scrapbook Nook. It's been a fantastic three terms with a wonderful kit club, a fabulous DT leader and great DT members. Every month for the last 21 months I've been showered with gorgeous kits and given the opportunity to create beautiful things with them. But it's time to move on. You'll still find me hanging around at the Nook boards because honestly, the Nook is a great place to hang out at. So thanks, Leah and Pam, for the great times. :)

Oh, Leah will be announcing the new DT really soon and it'll be a fabulous team. Be sure to check out the new team. And congrats in advance to the new girls. :)

Exploring Paris

This is a layout I created for My Tattered Angels, using several photos of our trip to Paris a couple of years ago.

I customized my own background by misting a white cardstock with Patina glimmer mist over a glimmer screen. To add more definition to the misted area, I stamped it using a coordinating stamp from the Tattered Traveller collection.

I combined Webster's Pages from a couple of collections on this layout - Postcards from Paris and Sweet as Cherry Pie. I love playing with lace and had fun with them on this layout.

Gotta love those hot air balloons from Webster's Pages and Tattered Angels.

A view to show the dimension in the layout.

I really like the colours in this layout. Very cheerful yet not overly bright colours. :)

Muak! Card

cYour Scrapbook Stash is sponsoring the challenge at Scrap It With A Song this week and here's my take on the challenge:

The challenge this week is to scrap a layout or card based on Faith Hill's "This Kiss". My card, which says "Muak!" just about says it all. :)

Some close-ups:

You have until Sunday 8th August to submit your challenge entry. Give it a shot and you may just win a $20 gift certificate to Your Scrapbook Stash. :)

Pat-A-Cake

Remember this layout I made using the Nook's August kit?

I made an accompanying one using the same Indie Girl collection from Sassafras Lass:

What better time to use a doily on a layout than one featuring baking and icing of a cake? And the title of course is from the rhyme every child knows. (At least one that every child in my time knew):

Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, baker's man.
Bake me a cake as fast as you can. :)

Bring back memories? :D

Thanks for dropping by! :)

Guest Designer at Webster's Pages

Whoots! I'm going to be guest designing for Webster's Pages!

This is so exciting, not least because I've been a fan of Webster's Pages for the longest time. And also because they're one of my favourite manufacturers. You've got to love their soft, romantic and dreamy collections and all the great embellishments they've been coming up with. Happiness!
