Simply Adorable

Here's another layout I created using some Zva flowers and pearl flourishes. I like the soft colour tones in this layout - green and pink - from Fancy Pants' Wishful Thinking collection.

Pink pearl flourishes to go with the pink Zva flowers and Sizzix roses cut from the Fancy Pants patterned paper. And of course that postage stamp chipboard from My Tattered Angels is just perfect for creating collages.

Zva Creative September DT Blog Hop

The Zva Designers are joining together again today to share a project that we have created using some of our favorite Zva Creative products. I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a little bit of fun again this month!

Here's a Zva Creative layout I created recently:

I used 7 Gypsies' Conservatory papers and paired it up with some beautiful blue flowers from Zva Creative. I also added some green Zva crystal flourishes for a little movement in this nature-inspired layout.

I cut out the plant and birds from the patterned paper and layered it on some paper whose edges I had carelessly torn and curled. The brown lace was originally pristine white before I misted it with My Tattered Angels chalkboard glimmer mist in Hot Chocolate.

Altered Tag Mini Class

I showed you the tags I made for the Friendship Swap yesterday. Today I'll share with you how I made them. I love My Tattered Angels glimmer mists and as I had all the new Fall colours in my hands, I knew I had to use them on the tags. I also love my Tim Holtz stamps and what better way to experiment with them than on small-scale projects like tags.

I started off with some large manila tags. These are 6" x 3", a good size to work on for playing with your mediums and stamps.

As I was making up 15 tags, I placed 2-3 tags next to each other and just misted them across, switching up the colours as I went along. I used 5 of the newest Tattered Angels glimmer mist colours in different combinations on the tags - Apple, Dragonfly, Sugar Maple, Autumn Nights and Pomegranate.

I then inked the edges for more definition.

Now for some stamping. I chose a couple of my favourite Tim Holtz foliage rubber stamps and stamped these as background images.

Next, I stamped and heat embossed my main images in black so they would stand out better. I like how heat embossed images add texture to a layout too. The butterfly stamp and Dream quote stamp are a couple of my favourites from Tim Holtz.

Friendship Swap Tags

Here are my completed Friendship Swap Tags. :)

The tags were fun to make. I used my favourite My Tattered Angels glimmer mists and Tim Holtz rubber stamps and just had a blast with them.

I like that each tag is unique because of the different glimmer mist colours on each one. I used the new Fall colours on the tags - Apple, Pomegranate, Sugar Maple, Dragonfly and Autumn Nights. Love the bright bold colours.

I also had fun hand-dyeing the ribbons to match the tags. Mists + Ribbon = Inky Fingers. :D

We had a fun crop last night and the tags are all at their new homes now. Well not all as a couple couldn't make it to the crop, but soon. :) And I've got in my hands beautiful tags from all the other scrappers too. Except for Kate's which should be couriered across soon. Can't wait for the next swap. :)

A layout for Zva Creative using one of my favourite CHA releases from Crate Paper - Restoration. I love how the paper complements the tribal designs on the African drums in the photo.

Fun bit of title work - the Zva swirl adds just that bit of movement.

I've been working on some tags for a swap I'm doing with a group of scrapper friends and I've finally completed them. :) Look at the kaleidoscope of colours. And to think I actually only used five colours. Fun! Can't wait for the swap to see the tags the others have created.

Alice Canvas Banner

aI don't celebrate Halloween but I do like my Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland papers, so I've created an Alice-themed banner.

(To take a closer look at the banner, go to the last image at the bottom of this post and click on that for a full size version.)

I altered a Maya Road canvas banner from Your Scrapbook Stash and started off by misting each canvas pennant with My Tattered Angels mists over Halloween Hauntings and Tattered Travelers glimmer screens. The new Fall glimmer mists are the perfect match for the Graphic 45 papers and on this canvas banner I used the new Fall shades of Autumn Nites, Pomegranate & Sugar Maple mists, and perenniel favourites Olive Vine and Peach Delight.
