One Fine Fall Day

I created this shabby-chic layout using Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue papers with flowers and bling from Zva Creative.

What's special about this layout? Zva has flower vines! Well, not exactly. :)  The floral vines were created by yours truly using 4 different purple 3D flowers from Zva Creative. How pretty and versatile are Zva flowers, when you can use them as is, or create your own floral vine with them. Even the leaves on the floral vine are from Zva.

I created a border ruffle out of the Webster's patterned paper, wrapping it around the circular background, then layering an ecru trim under the paper ruffle.

The pretty purple bloomers from Webster's and pale peach trims are a perfect match for the patterned papers and the purple, lilac and pink pearl flourishes from Zva.

Butterflies, lace, flowers and bling. My favourite embellishments. :) Add some Webster's Pages patterned papers and I'm in heaven. :)

Happy Halloween!

  

Here's a Halloween-inspired decor I created for My Tattered Angels.

I altered a mini wreath and embellished it with cute Halloween thing-ums I created using products from Tattered Angels and Graphic 45.

The mini wreath was originally a light shade of brown. To get it more Halloween-y, I misted it liberally with the rich dark purple of Haunted Shadow mist, over which I slathered on Glimmer Glam in Peach Bellini for a little orange glaze and glitter.

I used a lot of the clear stamps from Halloween Hauntings on this project, in particular the spider webs and spiders. I stamped the spider webs on clear transparency and attached them liberally around the decor. Little spiders peek out from behind the webs, big spiders peek out from behind Alice.

Chattin'

A layout for Your Scrapbook Stash using Sassafras Lass' Mix & Mend collection.

I cut along the outline of the design, tucking my photo into the collage to give the feel that the collage was created with my photo in mind. I then added my own lace and ribbons to complement the lace that was already in the patterned paper, giving a little dimension to the layout.

On the top left, I created a collage for my journalling using the same style as that in the original patterned paper.

Zva Creative October DT Blog Hop

I went for a shabby-chic layout with lots of tearing and distressing. I've used the new Zva pearl design here, which goes beautifully with the nature-themed layout.

Tucked along the torn edges of the layout are little Zva roses in shades of coffee, butter, olive and vanilla.

Here's a layout I created for Zva Creative using Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue collection.

The pretty pink pearl flourish and 3D flowers are all from Zva Creative.

I blended in the Zva flowers with the cut outs from the Webster's patterned paper to create a flower cluster in the corner of the layout. The pretty lace stamp extending from the flower cluster is from My Tattered Angels.

Heart Canvas

Here's a canvas I created using My Tattered Angels' mists, stamps, journalling card, glimmer glam and glimmer glaze.

I first misted the canvas with Tutti Frutti and Lime Twist. I then layered on complementary but stronger shades of Black Cherry and Olive Vine over the Heart glimmer screen. This was to create the image of the heart in paler shades of pink and green instead of the original white of the canvas. I then stamped and heat embossed a heart image, giving the canvas more texture. Next I painted the filigreed heart image with Glimmer Glam in Chandelier to add sparkle to the heart image as well as to give the heart a darker shade.

The clock image and phrase 'Time for Love' were taken from the Timeless Romance calling card which I misted in Antique Brass for subtle ageing.

To create the red heart in the middle, I layered coats of Glimmer Glaze in Paradise Pink, slowly building up the layers to create a 3D effect.

Dream Big

Here's a layout I created for My Tattered Angels. I misted the outer edges of the background paper a pretty pink with Tutti Frutti. The paper is UV-embossed to resist mists, revealing the lovely flourishes as the mist goes on. On the inside of the background paper, I misted Patina over a butterfly glimmer screen.

The title work is taken from a new Tattered Angels/Heidi Swapp  product – Simple Sayings titles  - phrases printed on felt plus additional designs clear embossed on. Tucked behind the title is a scalloped shape design in black – that’s a glimmer glass taken from the Seaside collection. I’ve also painted broad strokes of glimmer glam along the outline of the bracket shape – another subtle addition of glimmer. At the corner of the photo is yet another new product from My Tattered Angels – a clear tab with white felt words. Those are so versatile and fun to play with.

I am very pleased and excited to say that I'm on the new Creative Team for PaperMarket / Laines Papeterie! Here are all the team members:

I remember when I first started scrapping a couple of years ago, my very first design team position was as Guest Designer with Laine's Papeterie back in April 2008. It's really great to be back. :) Thanks so much for the opportunity, Elaine and Sharon!

Focus

Here's a layout I created for Your Scrapbook Stash using the very pretty Mix & Mend collection from Sassafras Lass. The patterned paper here is so beautiful there really isn't a need to do very much with it, but I wanted to see if I could add to the design without taking away from the original collage layers.

I cut along the collage images of the patterned paper, then tucked my photo along with layered photo mats under the cut out images. To add some dimension to the collage, I added in bits of blue tulle, orange and yellow ric rac and cream lace, which blend in beautifully with the rest of the patterned paper.

I distressed and inked along the edges of the patterned paper and in the bits that got ripped from over-enthusiastic distressing, I added some peekaboo lace and a little flower, bakers twine and leaf trim.

Be You

Here's a layout I created for My Tattered Angels, using patterned papers from Webster's Pages' Waiting for Santa. I love the richness of colours in this layout. Look at how the gold mist glistens against the black cardstock. The paper at the bottom of the layout was white with black flocked polka dots. I misted that with Burnt Red to complement the rest of my layout.

Matting the photograph are all products from  Tattered Angels. There’s a calling card from the Timeless Romance collection, which I painted with glimmer mist. I also stamped the frame image from the Timeless Romance clear stamps onto transparency and used that as a frame for the photo. And on the edge of the photo, I’ve placed a clear tab with felt word from  Tattered Angels – Expressive Tabs - a fun new Heidi Swapp product. I painted glimmer glam in Chandelier on the clear tab to give it that little shine without the colour.

The title work is created from some Framed Fonts which I’d misted with Sweet Clover and Olive Vine. The title sits atop a collage of lace and cut outs from the Webster's Pages patterned paper. In this photo you can see how the burnt red mist works on the felted polka dots.

A Love For Adventure

Here's a layout I created for Your Scrapbook Stash using Jenni Bowlin's Family Tree collection. I went for a slightly distressed look here with the kraft cardstock, crumpled patterned paper and splashes of black ink.

The intricate filigree butterfly's a stamp from My Tattered Angels, upon which a Jenni Bowlin butterfly rests. The chipboard title's from Lil' Davis Designs. Cute huh?

Playing with My Tattered Angels' glimmer mists on the chipboard butterflies and stamping on a manila tag. I used my Tim Holtz mini attacher to secure the twine. Oh and look, some Tim Holtz tissue tape. :)

A Walk In The Park

Here's a layout I created for My Tattered Angels.

I created my own background for this layout, using just mists and screens on a white textured cardstock. I used Apple, Olive Vine and Sweet Clover mists over the screens, then flipped the screens over and used them as stamps. I’m really pleased with how it turned out.

The postage stamp framed font is perfect for wallet-sized photos, and the mistable bird sits pretty amidst the floral patterned paper.

One of my must-have collections from CHA-S is 7 Gypsies Conservatory. I really enjoyed making my own customised background for it.
