Zva Creative May DT Blog Hop

Zva Creative and our talented Design Team welcome you to join us for our May Blog Hop! We are happy to have you join us and hope you enjoy all that we have to share with you along the way!

The Blog Hop begins at Zva Creative's blog! Be sure head on over to check it out! Leave a comment there for a chance to win an extra prize package just for visiting the blog and telling us that you stopped by! You will also find a complete list of all the participating blogs there (in case there is a glitch along the way).

As you know, Zva offers many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals.  We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.  If you like what you see you can find a list of stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE.

Here's my Zva layout, using some lovely red and black crystals and flowers from Zva Creative.

I went for a clean look on this layout, allowing the photo of my puppy to be the focus of the layout. I used Webster's Pages new Everyday Poetry and In Love on the layout. Love the softness of the colours in these two collections.

The layout is layered with muslin and Webster's Pages lace trims in a clean style, complemented by a small cluster of red Zva flowers, leaf and a beautiful black crystal flourish.

I added some stickles to the flowers in patterned paper for a little dash of glitter.

The title collage in the corner.

If you would like to play along with our design team, just follow along the blog path.  I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way!

Hidden on FIVE of the designer's blogs is a Zva Creative prize package! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts today, May 28th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, May 29th.

The 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, May 30th on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Zva's blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday... plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there.

All you need to do is leave a comment on this blog post... you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. However, the more times you comment along the blog hop path, the more chances you will have to win.

We also thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize!  To increase your chances of winning:

* Comment to let us know that you posted on your Facebook page about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)

* Comment to let us know that you "tweeted" about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)

* Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva creative products.  If they already do, that's fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don't carry.

*Hop over to Zva's blog and leave a comment there to tell us that you made it there!

The blog hop begins here at Zva Creative's blog. Your next stop is Jolanda Meurs. Enjoy!

Thank you for joining us!

P.S. Mark your calendar to join us again on June 25th for our next Zva blog hop!

This is the second of three layouts I designed for a class for PaperMarket in April. It uses Webster's Pages Sunday Picnic collection.

We played with lots of trims on this layout, interspersed with some Prima flowers. The silhouette photograph is popped up with 3D dots and layered upon concentric circles of doilies, patterned paper circles and die cut edges.

I love lace trims and flowers. :)

Remember to drop by on Monday 28 May at 9pm Singapore time for the Zva Creative DT Blog Hop. There are Zva prizes to be won!

List of Supplies:

Patterned Paper - Websters Pages Sunday Picnic collection
Lace Trims - Webster's Pages Sunday Picnic collection

Melissa Frances Blog Feature - Day 2

This is the second day of my feature on the Melissa Frances Blog:

My layout LOVE was featured. This is one of my personal favourites.

I went for a monochromatic look, layering white on cream on beige. The look is heavily layered with layers of circular patterned paper, doilies, lace, trims, muslin, crinkled seam binding, flowers, pearl flourishes and of course the lovely resin MF frame and butterflies.

My favourite part of the layout - the key in the resin frame. I layered the inside of the frame with differently textured lace and hung a LOVE key off of it.

Thanks Melissa Frances, for featuring my layouts. :)

Featured on the Melissa Frances Blog

I'm featured on the Melissa Frances blog today: Memories

I recently had the pleasure of creating with some Melissa Frances products for PaperMarket and it was so easy to fall in love with her soft vintage collections. So it was a happy mail day when I received an email about a month ago from Carolyn letting me know that they would be featuring my layouts on the Melissa Frances blog.

Here's the layout they featured today:

I went for a beige/cream monochromatic look in scrapping a photo of me from wayyyy back when. :)

Thanks for dropping by. :)

Puppy Pavilion

This is one of three layouts I designed for class at PaperMarket last month.

I used a mix of Webster's Pages Sunday Picnic and Country Estate papers to create a soft palette of colours. There's lots of layers in this layout - fussy-cut patterned paper, lace trims and muslin. Despite the many layers, the look is still clean with the focus on the photos.

The little boy peeking out from behind his pavilion:

Layers of muslin and patterned paper:

Lots and lots of 3D foam dots used on this layout. :)

List of Supplies:
Patterned Paper - Webster's Pages Country Estate and Sunday Picnic collections
Trims - Webster's Pages
Fabric Tags - Webster's Pages

Graphic 45 - Altered Cake Box

I'm up on the Graphic 45 blog today and here's what I created.

I altered a cake box and transformed it into a vintage-style treasure box using a mix of Graphic 45's Curtain Call and Renaissance Faire collections.

I converted the cake box by attaching hinges and a close featuring a Graphic 45 metal button. I then went to town with all the beautiful Graphic 45 patterned papers, layering the images with muslin, lace trim, pearls and a couple of Graphic 45 metal butterfly embellishments and buttons.

I also added some homemade gold corners fashioned out of paper and given a distressed look.

The inside of the box:

So if you have a cake box lying around, alter it. It's fun. :) And by the way, the original cake box was a bright orange!

Graphic 45 DT Introductions

It's my turn on the Graphic 45 blog for their 2012 Design Team introductions. :) Meet More of the New 2012 Graphic 45 Design Team

Everyday this past week I've been looking at the work of the new DT members being introduced and I've been floored by the incredible talent this DT has. I can only say I'm incredibly honoured to be on the same team as these individuals.

Here's the video I submitted for final round of the DT call.

If you'd like to watch the HD version of this video, here's the link. The quality's a lot better but it might be slow to load: Graphic 45 Projects HD version

To those of you coming over from the Graphic 45 blog, thank you so much for your kind words and comments. It means a lot to me. :)

It's A Beautiful Life - Mini Album

Here's a mini album of a family dinner we had to celebrate my daughter's 15th birthday.

The album and patterned paper are from Glitz Designs and all flowers, leaves, crystal and pearl flourishes are from Zva Creative.

I covered the mini album in off-white hemp and embellished it with flowers, leaves, crystals, a doily, hand-crinkled seam binding and lace trims for a soft look against the rugged hemp.

A close-up of the flower, leaves and brown and champagne crystal flourish from Zva Creative. I added a Glitz giant rhinestone to the centre of the Zva flower. Pretty!

The inside pages:

I used papers from three Glitz collections on this mini - Pretty In Pink, French Kiss and Vintage Blue.

A pearl crystal flourish from Zba Creative and more flowers and leaves from Zva, nestled amidst some crinkled seam binding.

The spread of delicious food we had:

Blowing out the candles on the birthday cake:

The inside pages of the Glitz mini album are coincidentally covered in a hemp patterned paper. :)
