Altered Envelope Tutorial

Who says only cards should be pretty? Let's not forget the envelopes they come in. Here, I've turned a plain lilac envelope into something much prettier, just by adding some patterned paper, flowers and ribbons.

Instructions:

1. First, select an envelope and some matching patterned papers. I've used Graphic 45's Place In Time patterned paper.

2. Cut a semi-circle out of the patterned paper and attach it to the flap of the envelope. Add a punched doily border. Cover the bottom half of the envelope with matching patterned paper. Decorate the front of the envelope with the matching postcard image.

3. Embellish the flap using doily, flowers, ribbons, pearls, twine and chipboards. Add a butterfly from a May Arts ribbon and you're done!

Wow, Sue! This is just gorgeous. I'm such a huge fan of your work. I decorate my envelopes, too...but this one could be the gift. Looks like a wonderful keepsake.
