Graphic 45 Design Team

Photo: Extra! Extra! Announcing the Top 30 finalists for the 2014 Graphic 45 Design Team! http://t.co/XhgtmeFh8V

Graphic 45 has announced its top 30 finalists for this year. Congrats to everyone on the list, especially my teamies from the current DT as well as my other scrapping friends. It's going to be an exciting run-up to the days before the new team is selected and I'm looking forward to seeing who'll be on it. I did not reapply this time as I'm coming to the end of my two year term and Graphic 45 likes to keep the DT fresh with new faces, which is a great thing. I'll still be designing with Graphic 45 because I really do love what they come up with. Once a Graphic 45-er, always a Graphic 45-er. :)

Sew Lovely Mini Album

Hello! Here’s a mini album I created from scratch using Carta Bella’s Sew Lovely collection.

I made a little 3D dress form to complement the collection and mounted that on the cover of the mini.

The mini is handbound with exposed binding using waxed cord.

The inside pages are a mix of patterned paper, quotes, cardstock and manila tags.

Sweet Sentiments Tri-Shutter Card & Tutorial

A few weeks back I created a shutter card for Graphic 45 using the Couture collection. I had quite a few requests for a tutorial for it, so I’ve designed another shutter card, this time using Sweet Sentiments. I’ve also written up instructions for it.

Here’s the card, which as you can see, opens up into a 9x9 inch 3D display:

And this is how the card looks folded neatly into a 3x9” card, perfect for mailing.

Here’s what you’ll need to create the card:

Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments 8x8 Paper Pad
Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments Heart Song
Cream cardstock
Doilies

Instructions:

1. Cut your 12x12” cream cardstock into 9x9”.

2. Score and cut your 9x9” cream cardstock as shown below.

3. You should end up with a base sheet like this, which you can now accordion fold to give you a shutter card.

4. Select the 3x4” images from Easter Greetings in the paper pad and attach them to the panels marked ‘A’. On the panels marked ‘B’, attach rectangles of purple Violet Bouquet, leaving a small border of cardstock all around. Glue on some doilies to these purple rectangles. On the panels marked ‘C’, attach rectangles of pink Heart Song. See photo for details.

5. Cut out the images from Easter Greetings patterned paper and attach these to the panels marked ‘C’. See photos below for the images I used.

6. Cut out some butterflies from Heart Song, stamps from Spring Has Sprung and flowers from Perfect Petals. Arrange these on to the panels marked ‘B’, using a couple of stamps and butterflies for each panel. For details, look at the photos below:

7. For the middle ‘A’ panel, cut out some flowers and butterflies from Perfect Petals and Heart Song and layer these on to the postcard, being sure to leave some space for your greeting.

8. And you’re done. Here’s a picture of the card open flat, so you can see all the different elements on each panel. Happy Scrapping!

By the way, the Graphic 5 design team call is on right now. Believe me, they're the best design team to be on. The products are fantastic and the team is just like a family. I won't be applying for it this year because I've been on the team continuously for two years already, and two years prior to that with a break in between. Graphic 45 likes to keep their design team fresh so current DT members who've been on the team for two years will not be able to re-apply. But you can be sure that I'll still be creating with their wonderful products. :)
