Shades of Spring

Prima's Flirty Little Secrets collection has got to be one of my favourite paper collections from Prima. I love the beautiful rich hues with lots of pretty blossoms everywhere. I used mostly Prima on this layout - the patterned papers, journalling notes, woodstock flowers, pearl swirls, velvet alpha stickers...

Butterfly Card

Here's another card I made for Graphic 45, using their Botanicabella collection. This collection is one of my favourites from Graphic 45 because the theme is just so classic. Nature, flowers, dragonflies, butterflies.... Love those butterflies! :)

Graphic 45 is having a week of card inspiration by its design team. If you haven't already been, go check out the blog. Lots of beautiful cards there.

Parisian Sights **new Graphic 45 Transatlantique**

I was so thrilled to receive the new Graphic 45 Transatlantique papers from Aimee I just had to dig into them immediately. These papers are oh-so-gorgeous and hot-off-the-printers! They're not even at my LSS yet. I can't resist papers with Paris images on them and I had the perfect photo to scrap them with.

Some close-ups:

Playing around with inking, tearing, distressing and creating dimension with layering. Those Prima flowers are just the right shade, blending in and creating texture without overpowering the gorgeous Transatlantique papers.

I cut out the Eiffel Tower from the pp and popped it up using 3D foam dots. There are actually two layers of dimension to the Eiffel Tower but the photo doesn't really capture that. I added a little Wish tag because our wish is to visit Paris again soon. :)

Don't you just love the vintagey look and colours of the pp? And I used only a small selection of the papers in the Transatlantique collection. Lots more beautiful pp in the collection.

List of Supplies:
Graphic 45 Transatlantique collection: Transatlantique, Paris Post, Globe Trotter, Transatlantique Tags
Cardstock: Bazzil
Flowers: Prima Artful Collage Flowers
Trims: own stash

I love how the hues of blue in Basic Grey's Marrakech line complements the photo of my dd taken in New Zealand. New Zealand has some breathtaking scenery.

I love distressing my papers and playing with peekaboo lace. :)
This layout was inspired by Gabi Pollaco and won the Lift The DT challenge at My Creative Scrapbook and was also a runner-up in the Basic Grey challenge at Your Scrapbook Stash.

"Relax" is also featured in the Basic Grey Gallery...

Happy Mail Day

My box of DT goodies from Graphic 45 arrived yesterday morning! That was quick! See the newest TransAtlantique collection? Hot off the press! The papers are absolutely gorgeous, both the front and the back. If I didn't already have them I'd run out and buy at least two sheets of each just because both sides are equally beautiful.

I'm also waiting not-too-patiently for my April DT kit from My Scrapbook Nook to arrive. Lookie! Prima flowers, ribbons, Maya Road pins & sheers and Pink Paislee paper and embellishments. The State-side girls who've received theirs already have been ooh-ing and aah-ing...

So exciting! :)
And oh yes, one more thing. Hilde's having a Graphic 45 giveaway on her blog. Go take a look. And good luck! :)

Here's a hanging decor I created using Graphic 45's Communique line. I love the vintage feel of the papers.

I like how you can cut out little elements from the Graphic 45 papers to create your own embellishment. This tag was cut out from patterned paper and popped up with 3D dots to create dimension.

The whole vintage romantic look works so well with flowers, lace and pearls:

Did you know that Graphic 45 showcases talented scrappers every Friday? If you love using Graphic 45 papers and have created amazing projects using our papers, we might just shine the spotlight on you. Email your best project using Graphic 45 papers to for a chance to be featured.

Happy scrapping!

Flower Girl

Here's one more layout I did for My Scrapbook Nook using their March kit. I like that this one's so different from the other two I created using the same kit. While the last one was classic and elegant, this one's more fun and sweet.

Little embossed butterflies which I added Rangers stickles to for a little bit of glitz, and a row of pearls fror the body. The butterfly trail is cut out from the Cosmo Cricket patterned paper.

Another die cut butterfly. This time the butterfly trail is the pearl flourish from Prima's Say It in Pearls. I also dotted pearl dimension around the entire circular border of the layout.

I still had lots leftover from the kit so I made a card using the little bits of scraps. I'm saving the larger sheets of patterned paper for another layout.

I don't know what I'm going to use this card for yet so I've left some space for me to put in the sentiment later.

Thanks for dropping by.

The Story of Us

Thank you to everyone who left me a message or SMS or who just came up to me to congratulate me on making it on to Graphic 45's DT. I really appreciate your comments. Been on a happy high for the last few days. :)

Here's a new layout I did for My Scrapbook Nook using their lovely March kit.

Don't you love Cosmo Cricket's classic grey and yellow Ever After papers? I framed the photo with cut-outs from Something True pp, adding a little Rangers stickles to them. The title and words are cut out from Ever After borders and elements pp.

The flower centre's a Jenni Bowlin button and those are the much sought after Prima Say It in Pearls. I'm liking Prima's grey trim as well. All included in the March kit.

More close-ups...

Graphic 45 Design Team!!

I am SO excited and thrilled beyond belief! I was surfing the net this morning and was reading the Graphic 45 blog post announcing their new DT and saw my name!!! I made it on the Graphic 45 Design Team!!

Here are the rest of the new DT who are joining the existing team:
Candy Rosenberg -
Nancy Burke –
Natasha Pryma -
Stacy Cohen -
Sasha Holloway -

What a great way to start the morning. Happy! :)

Behind the Scenes

I love this layout because Graphic 45's Communique line is just perfect for this behind-the-scenes photo. I cut out the border of Photogenic patterned paper and used this as a frame for my layout, much like a photo frame, in keeping with the theme of photography.

Love these little butterflies from Botanicabella's Ode to Butterfly paper.

Lots of inking and distressing and play with textures from the lace and flowers.

I stamped Purple Onion Designs stamps on transparencies and framed them as a corner on my photo (using Art Nouveau Corner stamp) as well as a base for my journalling (using Vintage Ornate Frame).

Thanks for dropping by!

2009 Journal

I altered this journal which I intend to use for all my random thoughts, ideas and to-do lists for 2009. I stamped a Purple Onion 2009 Calendar stamp and stuck that on the cover - that'll come in handy as I plan my days. I used another Purple Onion stamp, Arrow Journal Spot, as the base for the title and also as a pointer to the quote "You can't turn back the clock but you can wind it up again." by Bonnie Prudden.

I love these Graphic 45 patterned papers and realize they work really well with the 7 Gypsies paper and gaffer tape. Love that little "Inspire" tag too and the mix of velvet ribbons, packing string and old world black lace. :)

And I just can't get enough of these Graphic 45 butterflies.

Thanks for dropping by.

You & Me

This is my DT layout using the gorgeous March kit from My Scrapbook Nook. I love these papers from Cosmo Cricket's Ever After collection. The grey and coral are just so beautiful together. And who can resist those Prima Say It With Pearls swirls. :)

I cut out the flowers and vines from Cosmo Cricket's Something New patterned paper to form a corner border around my photo. Then I used my Sizzix dies and created this pretty flower, which I layered with white Prima flowers to bring out the colours of the patterned paper. The floral centre is Prima grey lace and the petals are held together by a Karen Foster pearl brad. To complete the flower, a little sprinking of Rangers stickles.

U & My i-Phone

I love this super-chunky layout I did using recycled corrugated cardboard, packing string, strange cut-outs and Purple Onion Designs stamps. I used K&Co's sweet Cut & Paste papers on this layout but decided against a sweetie-pie look and went for a slightly grungy one with raw elements like the corrugated cardboard and string.

I really had fun with this layout, mixing Hamblys and ribbons and cutting out elements from the patterned paper and sticking them elsewhere simply because I figured I didn't like where they were to begin with. See the arrow in the circle and the matching circle next to it? That's where it was. I didn't want the corrugated cardboard to cover the arrow so I cut it out.

The title alphas blocks "U" and "MY" were cut out from matching patterned paper. I love the great dimension corrugated cardboard gives any layout. So much fun just ripping the cardboard and painting and inking it. :)

I used four Purple Onion stamps on this layout:- Caution Label Set, Warning - May Be Habit Forming and Arrow Journal Spot. Fun stamps. :)

Just Be (Butterflies & Blossoms)

I incorporated two of my favourite embellishments on this layout - blossoms and butterflies. Used a super-large Prima flower (the green one measures 5 inches in diameter!) along with some other Primas which complemented the colours in the photo. Butterfly die cuts and matching patterned paper are from K&Co's Amy Butler Lotus collection. I love the great dimension the flowers and butterflies give the layout.
