Sweet Sentiments Layout

This is a layout I created using Graphic 45’s new Sweet Sentiments collection. I love the pale pastel colours of this collection and the sweet Spring and Valentine images. This collection is great for lots of detailed cutting and I’ve put it to good use in this layout, layering images upon images to create depth and detail.

The photograph was taken at Rosslyn Chapel near Edinburgh, Scotland. The chapel gained fame as the setting for part of Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code. Scenes from the movie featuring the chapel were also filmed on site. It was an interesting visit to the chapel, looking at the architecture and unusual carvings on the building. I especially liked the exterior walls which had lovely natural pastel hues.

Sweet Sentiments Altered Cheeseboard Tutorial

I altered this cheeseboard and incorporated a photograph, turning it into a lovely little piece of home d├ęcor. What’s great about this project is I used just two pieces of 12x12 Graphic 45 Secret Garden patterned paper and some embellishments to create it and you can finish the altered art in under 60 minutes. Great for a quick yet pretty gift. Sound good? Read on for the tutorial.

1. What you’ll need:

Wooden cheeseboard
Graphic 45 Secret Garden collection – Secret Garden, Beautiful Blooms
Graphic 45 Secret Garden Chipboard 1
Some flowers and leaves

2. Cover your wooden cheeseboard with the Secret Garden patterned paper.

3.  Cut out some flowers from the patterned papers and attach to the cheeseboard as shown. Silhouette cut a photograph and adhere to the bottom of the cheeseboard.

4. Glue a sprig of flowers on to the left of the cheeseboard. Cut out the fence from the patterned paper and adhere using 3D foam dots. Place the photograph so it looks like the subject is standing behind the fence.

5.  Attach more flowers and the Secret Garden chipboard button to the bottom left of the cheeseboard. I tied some twine to the chipboard button. Cut out some birds and butterflies from the patterned papers and adhere to the cheeseboard. Done!

Here’s a 'Best of Luck' card I created using Graphic 45’s Steampunk Spells collection. I like how the collection is so versatile that you can use it beyond Halloween projects.

I fussy-cut lots of the hot air balloons and adhered them using some 3D foam dots for dimension. The inside of the card is also adorned with fussy cut images.
